What is a Cegep?
The acronym CEGEP is French, translated “College of General and Professional Teaching”
Students in Quebec attend High School from Grade 7 to Grade 11. Following their graduation from Grade 11, they continue their studies at a Cegep for two years, then at a University for three years - if they remain in Quebec. There are English and French Cegeps throughout Quebec.
What about College Prep?
Students from College Prep International – should they wish to continue their studies in Quebec – apply to one of several Cegeps by March 1st of their Grade 11 Senior year.
Most apply to Dawson, Vanier, Marianopolis or John Abbott, depending upon personal interests, programs and locations.
We do everything possible to guide and advise our students so that they may do everything necessary to be accepted into the Cegep of their choice. Nevertheless, they must put in the effort and work as
There are also private Cegeps such as TAV, Centennial, O’Sullivan, and LaSalle to which students may apply.
